Dr. Jungschaffer earned her medical degree from the University of Southern California, where she was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha, the lifelong medical honor society. She continues to uphold this high standard of caring and health care delivery. She performed her internship at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center, and completed a residency in Ophthalmology at the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Center at UCLA.
After 5 years in a large medical group practice in central California, she moved to Washington in the year 2000 and joined Kitsap Eye Physicians.
Dr. Jungschaffer is a passionate and compassionate surgeon whose emphasis is in Cataract surgery, Glaucoma care, Diabetic care (including laser photocoagulation for diabetic retinopathy) and Macular Degeneration. Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, she recently completed the rigorous 10-year recertification process. She is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Washington State Medical Association, the Washington Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and Kitsap County Medical Society. In addition, she participates in Eye Care America, a volunteer service program to serve the underserved at no cost. Dr. Jungschaffer works in both the Bremerton and Port Orchard offices and welcomes new patients.
